As anyone working with the general public (and especially in the government) knows, these jobs can be especially dangerous. For Public Works, this typically means exploding cars, reckless drivers, and daring rescues.
However, on the night of May 31st, while many Public Works Operators were settling in for their night shift, shots rang out in the Public Works yard. Operators scattered, hiding behind work benches and tow trucks as an individual dressed all in white mowed down at least two high-vis clad workers.
When the shots finally ceased, a few Public Works Operators were left down and heavily bleeding, casings were scattered on the asphalt, and the suspect and his partner (we believe his fiancee) fled the scene in a white two-door (an Obey 9F). Police arrived and took statements, but there was still a question left to answer: Why?
As it turns out, the 'why' was a 'who': A toddler with a temper tantrum, angry that he couldn't score a favor from Public Works for his own personal uses- chairs for his impromptu wedding, treating them like any of the various event planners within the city.
Mr. Blaine Fantana, as he was identified by Public Works individuals, apparently approached Public Works with said favor to ask. While we don't know how the actual question was broached, we do know the outcome of the conversation.
This altercation left questions such as 'Are Public Works Operators safe?' 'Will any additional measures be put in place to stop trespassers on Government property?' and 'Will Blaine Fantana apologize, as Sue James of Public Works asked?'
Unfortunately, these questions would be answered with an even more brutal response.
After arriving from a Police requested tow call, Sue James (known by her callsign of Tasmanian Devil), was met by four individuals who had been waiting outside of Public Works headquarters in two blacked-out cars.
The two cars entered the grounds and at least one of the occupants stepped outside, brutally gunning Sue down (witnessed by two other Public Works Operators, and one Public Works hopeful). At this time, Sue's condition is unknown by Los Santos Diatribes, and the suspects (who are believed by the witnesses to be the Fantana brothers) are at large.
Stay safe Los Santos, and keep Sue and Public Works in your thoughts.
