We haven't gotten to the full moon yet and already the city is acting up. Let's break down a few things that happened just today: Atticus McLaughlin of McLaughlin Meds was forced to close his business early because three unknown individuals thought it would be great to wipe out the medical supplies in a rather bold theft. McLaughlin also noted that his business was offering free medical consultations, and those supplies were for those individuals who might not be able to afford care otherwise.
Susan Lacey, meanwhile, has been Twitter-canceled in a call-out by Eddie Euckland. Her crime? Throwing her pet hedgehog and rolling him down a flight of stairs in an egregious act of animal cruelty. We don't know what state Perry is in currently, but we DO know what happened to the last person who committed animal cruelty. (Hint: He was murdered). In the following video, provided by Eddie Euckland, she issues an 'apology', but we're all calling it what it is: A publicity stunt to throw us off of her very real crime.
Lastly, while I was receiving the keys to my building from DoCL (that's right, LSD has an office now), myself and two upstanding members of DoCL, one of them being the Commissioner herself, were approached by three armed individuals. With our hands quickly tied behind our backs, we were marched down the alleyway and all of our identification was taken (along with firearms from one DoCL member). Now, what about the police response? While details regarding the follow-up on the first two instances are unknown at this time, Sergeant Robertson responded within minutes to follow up with the last robbery-- once the good folks at Pillbox Medical helped us out of the ropes. We would be ignorant if we thought all experiences with officers of the law were as pleasant or as thorough as ours, however. In fact, musical genius Jason Tanners has been very vocal about his thoughts regarding the current state of law enforcement:
"The police have failed you. They've taken after their own interests over doing their jobs. Even a seasoned member of law enforcement in DiNozzo, who should know better, failed to recognize and/or willfully ignored an absence of probable cause."
Could this be an address regarding the illegal raid on Black Lotus, under the assumption that 'people guilty of past crimes will always be criminals'? Or, could this be a response to some other unresolved issue? Are the people of Los Santos losing hope?
In the spirit of speaking your voice, Metal Monday is hosting a Protest Night (featuring Jason Tanners) on May 15th at 10pm EST. For this specific event, there is no entry fee.
That's the wrap right now, but stay tuned next time as we address censorship in Los Santos, and the war on journalism.
