In Paleto Bay, there is an unassuming building just off the highway that appears to be an abandoned warehouse next to a scrap yard. For the creative types of Los Santos, it's the perfectly legal option for supplies in the vein of iron, plastic, copper, and rubber. That's right-- this supposedly empty warehouse is actually a carefully organized Recycling center.
When you first enter the warehouse, it's just as any other- stacked boxes, metal shelving, and concrete flooring. In the very back, toward the far door, is a desk and a place where volunteers can sign in and work to unpack the parts shipped brought over from the scrapyard or other parts of Los Santos. Instead of cash in the bank, you're allowed to keep a certain amount of recycled scrap to build with or create with to your heart's desire. Sounds perfect, right?
At second glance, you might have noticed the signs outside the door listing "Under New Management" and "Those wishing to sell/buy should reach out to Caliber MC directly." That's right- the one and ONLY recycling plant in Los Santos (that we've discovered) looks to be under the management of Caliber MC, who as of recently has taken to policing the entirety of Paleto Bay themselves.
Although we're unsure of their current plans for the recycling business, some citizens report being chased out of the recycling center or being forced to hand over a percentage of their findings to this club. While these may very well be just rumors, we look forward to seeing how Caliber runs this business in the future. On a more disturbing note, as there is only a singular recycling center in town, desperate individuals have taken to the illegal route of gathering their materials through an underground car-chopping ring. This leaves Caliber and Los Santos in a very interesting situation, to be sure: Will Caliber continue to monopolize the option available to law-abiding individuals, or, will Los Santos realize the city's trash (and treasure) is too immeasurable for one singular recycling center?
