While enjoying a beach day, our staff was treated to a rather unusual conversation that was had by a few folks manning the Public Works trucks- and you won't believe what they discovered! While out on the water, our staff noticed 1 Public Works truck approach the beach. Believing they were at the beach to impound their bikes, our staff quickly raced back to shore to secure their Vaders. Initially refusing to identify themselves, our staff presumed that these two men were actually part of Public Works. The workers discussed their day off and desires with our staff, mentioning a craving of alcohol and public touch (I mean, you can't fault them for this). One man, dressed in a yellow works vest and black helmet, then stated that he would be willing to murder someone to take the sailboat our staff had been sailing on just moments before. While initially believed to be a joke, the conversation between the one man and the second (later positively identified as Vanderon Robinson) took a dark turn as they began to discuss murder in general with our staff-- with the still unidentified man claiming he had killed before! Vanderon further described his wife to our staff (Evie Quinn), and claimed she was his trophy wife, and that he was very rich. Surprised by the report my staff gave to me, I called 211 and asked, plainly: 'Two Public Works individuals were at the pier, claiming they murder. Are these actually your employees?' I received a response almost instantly, with a voice I confirmed to be Vanderon stating "No, they were pirates". Now, this was becoming QUITE the mystery! While leaving a local garage, two Public Works trucks were spotted again, and I asked my staff if these were the same 'Pirates'. They were, in fact! While leaving, a man with grey hair in a bun came up, circling our jeep and spoke to us in a cryptic way. He seemed to apologize for the pirates, and stated that 'All Public Works people are murderers'.
He then went on to elaborate that 'It's actually accepted, expected, and celebrated'. With chills down my spine, the man continued to circle the jeep, and spoke again about his wife, and how he wanted to purchase a yacht before finally declaring 'I think I'll quit this job soon'. We excused ourselves as quickly as possible and made it to safety. Let this be a lesson to you, friends-- there are pirates among the public works, and they're after your blood!
