Los Santos is facing a growth and expansion problem within its bustling city. Each day, hundreds of new faces are flocking to Los Santos from all over the country, looking for a fresh start. Some arrive in Los Santos looking for a new job, a change of scenery, or just to start over.
What do you do, then, when you arrive in Los Santos and have nowhere to go? Dozens or more people are currently facing this problem each day. Hotels are overbooked or have no vacancies, the housing market is at a standstill, and people are resorting to sleeping in unlocked cars, park benches, or under bridges.
Even those who did have some arrangement with a hotel are finding themselves locked out of their rooms, their belongings discarded, and their agreements terminated on a whim- there's such a demand for livable spaces that hotels have taken on predatory and discriminatory practices to keep their pockets lined-- and people on the streets. If you are one of the lucky few who has managed to find accommodations, it's likely the commute is discouraging. I, myself, had been commuting from San Paleto all the way downtown each day to work- and let me tell you, the Hot Dog business doesn't always pay the gas or the towing fees incurred! (Strangely enough, as I write this, I've received a notice that my own agreement has been terminated, and my bed is now someone else's bed.) We have faith that our city will come together and provide for its citizens, and that fewer people will find themselves sleeping in Legion Square or in an alley-way as the weeks pass-- but until then, Los Santos, I'll see you on the streets! Are you or someone you know facing homelessness? Do you want to talk about it, and share your story? What's the strangest place you've slept? Reach out to us at LSD-- we want to hear from you!
